Tonight on a special Inauguration night edition KNPR's State of Nevada...  More than a million people converged on the Capital Mall to watch Barack Obama be sworn in as the 44th President of the US.  We talk about this historical day and what it means for US citizens, the world and Nevadans.

I am actually deeply troubled by Barack Obama.

His speeches are works of art, but they lack substance.
He speaks of change yet he follows almost exactly what Clinton and Bush did.
He knowingly has dodged the Constitution qualification for Presidency, yet people worship him as a god.

The American people are blinded and they don't care.

Adeste writes:

I just want to express what the Obama presidency symbolizes to me as a gay Asian male.  I now have a renewed hope in the American people and the possibility of change. I agree with the statement about the existence of structural systems that perpetuate inequities whether racial, gender, or based on sexual orientation.  Today, however, not only reminds me of the rhetoric that without  struggle there is no progress, it also teaches me that the statement is one i can actually truly believe in.

Patrick writes:
Actually, today was the saddest of my life.
I am very happy for Obama and the fact that we elected a African American
president, but at what cost?

Obama has already proven that he is not about change, but picking mostly
cabinet members from the "failed" Clinton administration.
He also is almost entirely going in line with the Bush Administration.

The American people are worshiping Obama, because he talks big, but in
reality he will do very little for us.
We are being blinded and no one seems to care as long as Obama make us
happy.

I do not expect Obama to be anything other than what he ran on in the campaign to beat Hillary and McCain:

Just another Chicago Democratic party politician making promises to the young, to the liberals, to the unconventionals, and just about anyone who isn't conservative and anti-big government or both.

I hope and pray that Obama finishes out his 4-year term and goes back home to Chicago without damaging the US Constitution, or adding to it through executive action.
